More college credit for NELA seniors
- please read and act!
Hey NELA Seniors!!!!
Are you looking forward to your senior year at Northpoint? I am hoping to make it an amazing one with you! With that in mind, I have an exciting opportunity to share.
We now have the opportunity for you to earn your English 101 and 102 college credits at NELA during your Language Arts class here! It is called “dual enrollment.” Pretty cool, huh? Not only can you leave with 6 college credits in English that will transfer to the college or university of your choice, you will also save a bunch of money by not having to pay for these courses while in college.
I have asked that you all enroll at the college for an opportunity to test for your senior math course. That required taking the math and reading placement tests. Now we need for you to also take the writing test there as well.
If you are reading this and haven’t done any of it yet, not to worry... I’m am going to make it easy for you. Next Wednesday, August 4th we will meet at NELA at 1:00 and drive to Yavapai College in the school van (If you would like to drive yourself and meet me there that is okay too, I just need to know if you will be there.) It is important that you first establish a record on Yavapai College’s system by filling out an online application. See the document titled: Needs to submit an application for Admissions at some point in the process you will need to click “underage student.” You will also need to have your social security number memorized or with you.
I know this is a lot of information. Please write back with any questions you have and PLEASE let me know if you will be riding with me to the college next Wednesday or meeting me there. I NEED TO KNOW by Monday, August 2nd!!
See you soon!
Ms. Liddle
P.S. If you have read this far, there is a BONUS! Click HERE for a study guide for the test you will take at the college. If you would like to retake the math test after studying the guide, I encourage it!
